Old Dropbox Link, restore?

Hi there,

I changed a file - and wanted to keep the same share link.

I googled it and it said to rename the link the exact same thing which I did. But when I went to put it in dropbox it said there was already a file by that same name. So, I deleted the old file and uploaded the new one. Unfortunately, it was a bit impulsive of me, because now my lovely www.TinyUrl.com/ThinBookJVGift link says that there is nothing there. Is there a way to get the old share link to connect with the new file I replaced ? Thanks so much.

Hi @Sarahcion; welcome to our Community and sorry to hear about this. 

It seems like the original file that the shared link (the one which your tinyurl is pointing to) has been deleted as the link now is giving a 404 error. 

In that case, you can look at your deleted files page and restore it from there for the original shared link to function. 

Alternatively, you can create a new shared link for the newly added file and generate a tinyurl that points to that shared link instead.
