Removing a My PC folder

Removing a My PC folder

Martin18
New member | Level 2

My Dropbox account has a file called MyPC -(name) in it that I cannot seem to remove. This was a previous colleague and it is not clear to me how this occurred, but it was probably by mistake. Either way, I want to get rid of this.

I have no access to this person or his laptop  to turn anything off on that side, but I want it gone from my dropbox!!

How can I do that?

Martin

Hey @Martin18, welcome aboard the Dropbox Community!

It seems that your previous colleague had enabled the Computer Backup feature on their computer, while having it linked to your Dropbox account.

I'm afraid, this can only be disabled from the Dropbox application preferences on the computer in question.

If you can somehow contact them, your colleague can use the steps here, to disable the feature.

Also, after the feature is disabled, if you don't want your Dropbox account to be connected to their computer, you can unlink it from your Security tab.

Let me know if you have more questions.
