This has been brought up several times over the years (there is e.g. this earlier discussion https/www.dropboxforum.com/t5/Dropbox-installs-integrations/How-do-I-rename-the-root-folder/td-p/229... dating back to 2015
can we change the root folder name from "Dropbox (BusinessName)" and "Dropbox (Personal)" to something else? Currently, the answer seems to remain "no".
The core issue here is that inserting a space (and parentheses, albeit to a lesser degree) is really poor style for folder directories and actively messes with lots of tools and cross-platform stability. This is particularly annoying if trying to use Dropbox as place to store code: you need to worry about escaping the space - and more broadly, a bunch of terminal-based niceties are broken (tab-completion, clicking directory links in terminals, etc.).
There's been several calls to fix this, at least since 2015: is there any chance that this will be fixed one day? Even being able to rename to e.g. "Dropbox-BusinessName" would be a huge win.
Hi @tchr, thanks for posting on the Community!
Currently, there isn't any information on if there would be any change to this in the future.
If there hasn't been one already, you can suggest this for others to vote on, so the dev team can look into this in future.
