Restoring file structure

Restoring file structure

Explorer | Level 4

Trying to help out my brother with one of his projects, I installed Dropbox.  For 6 days I have regretted this installation.

None of the search results and or answers have helped resolve my issue.

Is there anyone out there that can offer a straightforward answer to this question:

How do you restore your file structure to what it looked like prior to Dropbox?

Current         C:\Users\MyUserName\Dropbox\My PC (DESKTOP-MNLOP)\Pictures

Prior              C:\Users\MyUserName\Pictures

Thank you.

Re: Restoring file structure

Dropboxer

Hey there @BocaBuckeye, thanks for reaching out to us, and sorry about the frustration this has caused you.

It looks like computer backup was enabled when you first set the desktop app up.

To turn it off, follow the steps mentioned in this article and make sure to choose the Keep content in folders on this PC option.

This should move the files back to their original locations on your computer.

Give that a try and let me know if you have any trouble along the way. Cheers!

Good morning Lusil,

Thank you for your quick reply.  During my many attempts to fix this issue, I did turn off the backups.  Now what's my next step?Dropbox SShot1.jpg

Not sure that this will be The Answer to my issues, I moved all files from the Dropbox folder (pictures and music) to the respective Pictures and Music system folders.

Next step, delete Dropbox - hoping and praying for good results.

Cheers
