Re: Resume Syncing

Resume syncing after not being able to sync due to space issues.

Hi,
We use the personal base version(
Dropbox Basic) and are connected to the files of one of the employees.
At some point, the synchronization stopped due to space shortage.
We kept updating those files that were saved only locally and not in a shared location.
We want to upgrade storage to resume syncing.
Will going beyond the pro version of each participant allow automatic synchronization?
Or do we need to switch to the business version to sync?
The goal - to complete the synchronization to those shared files that have been updated locally in a certain period.
Is it possible to get a neat checklist of how to perform the upgrade and sync?
Thanks in advance.

Thanks for getting back to me here @ErezD!

Upgrading the account that is linked with the desktop app will allow syncing to resume, as the space of the account will increase.

Please just bear in mind that if each device is linked to a different account, then each account that is having issues with space will need to upgrade to resume the sync.

Also, since the edits are from multiple devices, before upgrading I would suggest making a copy of the recently edited files in another location on the computer too, just in case any edit are overwritten by another version.

Hi @ErezD, thanks for posting!

For syncing to resume, you'll just need to upgrade to one of the plans with more storage than your current account.

Since you mentioned pro, do you possibly have a plan for the current account, or are you using the Basic free version?

Also, have the local edits been done from multiple computers, or just one?

Looking forward to hearing back from you!

Hi Daphne,

Thanks for the quick reply,
With regard to your questions:

  1. We are using the personal base version(Dropbox Basic).
  2. The problem is that the edits been done from multiple computers.

Is it possible under these conditions to perform the upgrade and full sync?
Looking forward to hearing back from you!

Thanks in advance.
