Save to team space causing conflicted copies

Explorer | Level 3

73A4230A-DA05-42D4-9BDB-52B6E5C456CD.jpeg

When some computers on our network reboot we get this message pop up.

The folder in this particular instance is a folder already saved in the team space.

If we choose to move to member folder, the file is removed from our team space and no others can access it. If we instead choose to save to team space, we create a conflicted copy.

I suspect this is a problem caused with syncing, however this is happening pretty much every day and is very frustrating. What can I do to stop this from happening?

UPDATE: This is occuring with the desktop version 87.4.138. This version is the same on the computers causing the issue as well as computers that are not. It is not happening with all folders in the team space. I am unable to disable the badge right now as that would distrupt people working.

Hi @Tryout123, welcome to the Community!

If you have access to the devices in question, can you hover over the Dropbox desktop app icon and let me know the app version currently running? It will look like ##.#.###.

Can you also let me know if this happens with all folders, or specific ones?

Lastly, do you have the Dropbox badge running as well with the application? If so, can you disable it with the steps provided here, and let me know if this helps?

Let me know you find.

Thanks!

EDIT: I disabled the badge and rebooted. I am still getting this message.

Also the computers that are doing this use a roaming desktop Windows login. I'm not sure if that is part of the problem.

Based on your description, I believe the problem is related to the roaming profiles.

I’d recommend asking your IT administrator for more info regarding these types of setups, or to request them to stop the %APPDATA% folder from roaming.

You should be able to resolve this by setting Windows to ignore the AppData\Roaming\Dropbox location and preventing it from roaming using the following directions:

If there is no IT to help you more with this, no worries! Let me know and I will create a ticket for you.

Awaiting for your updates.
