Shared Folders

[Someone who needs help]

Someone from my job was sharing a folder with me, and I did put important files there.
Then he was fired from his job days ago, and today he decided to delete the folder he was sharing with me. 
And therefore I cannot find neither the shared folder nor my files. Not even in my Deleted Files folder.
P.S. no way to contact him.
What can I do?

Apart from restore from backups you may be stuck I'm afraid. 

You can try and rejoin the share from this article, however, if he was the owner of the folder then he can delete them at will. 

I'm afraid there is nothing you can do via Dropbox if the above does not work.
