Shared Link only works if you're logged in to the dropbox account

Shared Link only works if you're logged in to the dropbox account

Hi,

We suddenly seem unable to externally share folders by creating a link. We are going through the normal process (click on share choose People with the link can edit and then create and copy link.

If I click it when logged in to dropbox the link works fine however if I click it in a different browser that is not logged in to the account then I get a 404. Have dropbox changed something with sharing trying to get people to upgrade?

Thanks

Hey @me123456, thanks for posting on our Community!

It sounds like your shared links may have been banned.

How long have you been getting this error?

Keep us posted!

Hi Walter,

Yes it looks like links have been banned (the email went to an old address so got missed).

I can't believe we've hit 20GB though, we only share brochures with customers, if only we had that many customers!

Is there any way to see what has been using the bandwidth?

Thanks

Hey there @me123456, I hope you're doing well.

At the moment, there's no precise way for you to check your account's individual usage of bandwidth.

However, do you still face this on your end? Let me know.

Hi Lori,

It seems to have sorted itself out now. I would still be amazed if we got anywhere near the 20GB / 100000 access limits in 24 hours though (that's more like a years worth of usage for us!!) so slightly concerned that it might just stop working again at some point with little warning (probably just after we've sent out an electronic mailer with a link in it!)

Regards

Matt
