What can cause the following problem?
I was viewing a shared file on my iPhone, but somehow it disappeared. I re-installed the app but it is still not there.
However, I see it on Dropbox.com.

Moving on to your concern now, could you please let me know if clearing the app's cache helps?
To clear the cache on your iPhone, please follow the steps listed below:
Once this is done then please ensure you log out of the Dropbox application, then restart your device and log back in again.
