Hello

I shared a file with two people (I entered two email address in the share file box) but only one person received

the shared file

Does anyone have any suggestions or a fix - I am confused as to why it is not working

Hey @sgman, I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with this!

If you click the Share option for the file again, do you still see both recipients shared with the file?

Also, can you confirm for me how you shared this?

For example, is it just a file that you shared or a folder containing a file? Did you send a shared link, or allow them editing access to the file?

Let me know and we can go from there!

Hi Daphnee

I checked the share icon beside the file and it says that I am sharing with the owner (me) and

two others (see below file share status window)

What happened is I created the zip file and then added the two recipients to the file.

Only one recipient got the email message that a new file was ready for viewing

(I guess I am wondering is that I assumed that both recipients would get an automated email

notification from drop box)

In the future do I need to send an email with a link to the drop box so that I know everybody is

getting the notification

Thanks in advance for all the help...:)

Thanks for checking on that @sgman!

I'm assuming that the person who didn't receive the file is the second one, is that right?

In this case, their notification may have been misdirected to their spam/junk inbox in their email instead.

Also, since the name is showing as their email address, is it possible that they don't have a Dropbox account? This could be another reason the email could have been caught in their spam folder.

Just to note, when you share a folder with this method, they will need to have a Dropbox account to view the content.

If they don't have a Dropbox account, you can share the folder with viewing/downloading access via a shared link instead.
