Shared folder

Shared folder

survey maven

Hi -

If I have access to a shared folder (add and edit) along with other people and I delete the folder, would the others still access the folder?  I am not the owner of the folder (just invited to share).  Thanks.

Hi @survey maven

You missed the first part of that bit off.... if you leave a share you can be reinvited to it later. BUT as you have not left the share if you do anything to it then Dropbox will do what its supposed to do and replicate that to everybody else i.e. delete it 🙂

If you just delete it from your Dropbox then it would also delete from theirs.

You need to leave the share and THEN delete it: https://help.dropbox.com/files-folders/share/leave-shared-folder

Hi Mark - I don't mean to sound dumb, but I'm confused.  From the link you sent, it says that the owner can re-invite me to share the folder again I accidentally delete it.  That means the folder isn't really deleted, it's just deleted from MY Dropbox, right?  If that's the case, why wouldn't all the other people who are sharing the folder still have it in their DropBoxes?  Thanks.

Ah - got it (I think).  I can delete a shared folder, which then deletes it for everyone who is sharing the folder.  However, I cannot restore the deleted folder, because I am not the owner of the folder.
