Shared folders and space

New member | Level 2
New member | Level 2

Hi. I have a plus account and want to share some folders with large movie files in them. The folks I’m sharing with tell me that THEY are prompted to upgrade in order to see the files. Is that correct? Seems like I already paid for the upgrade, why should they have to too? Thanks

Hi @tnasty, thanks for joining the Community!

As you’ve noticed, shared folders do take up quota on all active members’ accounts, so your quota isn’t shared with those users. Currently, only Dropbox Business plans offer shared quota.

You can still share a link to the folder, which can be accessed via a browser to download the files, or a file request link for them to upload files to your account if this is needed.

Hope this helps to clarify matters!
