Sharing deleted folders

Helpful | Level 5

Hello,

I am an Team Admin of a Dropbox Business acount. Through the use of the Dropbox API it is possible to share a folder that has been deleted (not pernamently deleted) with other users, so my is question is that possible by using the Dropbox website or desktop client or is this an issue with the Dropbox API?

Thank you for the information!

Hey there @BIMcollab - how are you today?

I'm not really sure to what exactly you're referring to; could you elaborate a tad on this?

Thanks!

Hi Walter,

What I mean to say is that if there is a Shared Folder, that a user deletes (but is not pernamently deleted) you could still share the deleted folder with other Dropbox users, utilizing the Dropbox API (The "Add_folder_member" API call).

Is it possible to do this withouth the API - delete a shared folder and before it is pernamently deleted share it with other Dropbox users, just by using the Dropbox website?

If that is not the case, is this a Dropbox API bug?

Hope that makes my question clearer.

Of course it is @BIMcollab!

The users that have removed their access from the mentioned shared folders will be able to add them back through their account's Sharing tab:

Let me know if I'm missing anything here please.
