Sharing location for camera upload

Sharing location for camera upload

I read this on https://help.dropbox.com/installs-integrations/photos/camera-uploads-overview

"Background uploading allows Dropbox to upload photos even when the Dropbox app is closed. It automatically uploads your photos whenever it detects a change in your device’s location. "

Can someone explain please why would I need to share my location for the automatic upload in the background, it doesn't seem clear to me, I can take many photos and videos while I am in same location.

The Dropbox application can only run in the background for a couple of minutes before the operating system suspends it. Dropbox uses a change in location as a trigger to occasionally wake up the app so it can continue to upload in the background.
