Sharing of Master Folders including all subfolders

Because a master folder may contain a number of subfolders with pertinent info, I would like the ability to share all of that info by simply sharing the master folder.  For example, if you have a master folder of 'Financials' with sub folders for individual years such as '2017' , '2018', '2109', etc.   By sharing the 'Financial' master folder, you also then share all of the subfolders located within.  Hope this makes sense.

Hi @CrawfordTG; welcome to our Community!

I'm sorry for the late reply here; I just noticed you had posted this in the ideas section.

This is how sharing a folder with subfolders should work in the first place.

Are you, perhaps, having an issue with sharing a specific folder of yours?

Let me know what you find!

Thanks for reaching out.  My issue is really just what I described.  I have a master folder with some some invidiual files and also some sub folders.   Originally some of the sub folders were shared.  I wanted to change this and just share the master folder so that others had access to all of the information.  I kept getting a message that I couldn't share a master folder that had shared sub folders within it. So, I unshared all of the sub folders but still could not share the master folder.  I contact support  but I am not sure the person really understood what I was trying to do or what my issue was.  Perhaps I am not explaining it well enough.

Thanks,

Tom

I see now, thanks for the additional information, Tom.

The message you get suggests that there is still a sub-folder that's considered to be shared; can you confirm that you used these steps to unshare the subfolders that were shared in the first place?
