Smart Sync - Different settings on different devices

Explorer | Level 4

Hi all,

I am setting my Dropbox on my devices (desktop and notebooks). In addition to the Selective Sync (to not have some folders on a device at all), I would like to use the Smart Sync function to have full access to files and folders but without need of syncing/donwloading a lot of files.

Is it possible to have different Smart Sync settings on different devices for the same folder?

I mean: I have a "Folder X" that I would like to be "Online only" on a device and "Local content" on the other.

Is it possible? Or the Smart Sync is a "folder property" not dependent on the device?

Thanks!

Hi @uniposca, I'd be more than happy to help.

In one word, yes! Smart Sync and selective sync are space saving features for your hard drive that are device-specific.

In other words, you can indeed have folder X Smart Synced as local on computer A and online-only on computer B.

You can find more info about Smart Sync here and selective sync here

Hope this helps!
