Smart Sync is experiencing an issue - should I be worried?

Smart Sync is experiencing an issue - should I be worried?

Hi all,

I've been using Dropbox to store all my work and such and I've recently started seeing the following message when I click on the Dropbox icon in the Windows 10 Taskbar:

Smart Sync is experiencing an issue . To open online-only files and folders, right click and choose Smart Sync and then local

I have it set so that any files I put on my computer are automatically synced with Dropbox (I see the little tick within a green circle on each file icon) - just now I added a JPG to my desktop and it has appeared in Dropbox fine.

Why is that message appearing?

Last night I had to reinstall Windows 10 fresh without apps or setting causing me to have to download Dropbox again if that is a factor.

Hey @Niall D., I hope you're having a great Friday!

Can you hover over your Dropbox icon on your task bar, and let me know the version of the app? It should look something like: xxx.3.xxx or xxx.4.xxx

A screenshot of the message you see would definitely help!

Keep me posted!

Wishing you a great Monday @Niall D.

Have you tried rebooting your device after the OS update?

If I were you, I'd also uninstall, and then re-install the app.

Provided you see the same message after that, feel free sending a screenshot my way.

Keep me posted.

The message no longer showed the next day so I guess a reboot was necessary, thank you Lori.
