Smart Sync is making random files local

Explorer | Level 3

Hi.

Im sure this has been asked in many times in many different ways, but...

I have 2 primary folders I use for my business on dropbox. All using Smart Sync
'Live Projects' - Everything in here is local across all devices connected to the account

Client Archive - Once a project is complete, it gets moved to an archive and is made 'online only'.

Stay with me.

Randomly files within folders, or sometimes entire folders of data become 'local'.
No one has accessed them and it happens with specific folders more often than not.

So im thinking is something else on my mac 'talking' to dropbox and asking it to pull data
from a random file for what ever reason. So im constantly getting messages saying that
Dropbox cant sync as theres not enough space and im having to manually go through and
make 'local' files 'online only' again.

FYI. Back ups are disabled.
Only connected App is clean my mac.

Help please!

Hi @HowardTaylor, thanks for messaging the Community!

It sounds like you might be experiencing this behavior on your machine.

Most likely another app or service is requesting access to those files.

Let me know how it goes!
