smart sync not working Mac Mojave

Im uptodate with the dropbox 79.4.143

im on Mojave 10.14.4 

All of the offline files that i have smart sync'd are still on my mac 

Ive maxed out my memory and cant off load anything onto the online only dropbox 

Ive trawled through various forums looking for a solultion but cant find one 

My harddrive is full and i cant run any updates or download anything !! 

can anyone help thanks

I am having the same issue - files are mostly online only, but still taking up space. Latest DropBox version, running MacOS Mojave 10.14.6

Any news on the Zero Size Placeholders?
I'm still waiting after opting to the Early Access Program, and my work is put on hold. 
If the Smart Sync isn't really smart at all, please don't promise more than you can keep.

Sorry, but this is quite annoying and contraproductive.

It actually was working the whole time. It says the size in your finder, but if you right click and go “get info” you’ll see that it says 0kb on disk.

That's ok. But when my Mac thinks it's memory is full, it refuses me to upload the rest of my files. As all files needs to go through the Mac and not directly from an external Hard Drive, it becomes a problem.

orany new suggestions on this? Nothing works on my Macbook Pro running macOS Mojave 10.14.6.. I have uninstalled/reinstalled both stable and beta versions to no avail.. files show up as Online Only yet I am constantly being prompted to delete files off my systems since my hard drive is full. I check the Manage Storage optoin to see the files taking up space, and they are all the large DropBox files.. makes no sense why Finder shows them as Online Only but the computer itself read it differently. This was working OK at best over the last few weeks but I have been out of operation on my laptop since Wednesday this week and have not been able to do a single project due to "no space" on my laptop and it is absurd. I have a 2tb plan, barely any space used, yet my computer is stuck with no space claiming I am full while also claiming files are online. Does DropBox plan to fix this feature or should Mac users expect to see this behavior consistently moving forward? This is very annoying and defeats the purpose of DropBox. 

i have slowly started moving all files back over to external harddrives. Please let me know a solution otherwise I do not plan to renew.

2018 Macbook air - Dropbox - using up hard drive space

I have a 2018 MacBook Air and used DropBox Business. I use Smart Sync to keep most files online unless I need them on my laptop. I am not constantly getting the message that my hard drive is full. 

I have read for several years about this ongoing problem. Other than deleting and reinstalling DropBox, I have not seen a solution. I did in fact delete and reinstall, and the issue returned. Is there an actual fix out there?
