Smart Sync update for Mac On - see file size on Mac finder

Explorer | Level 3

Hi

After I turn the setting "Smart Sync update for Mac" to On, if I go to finder, how can I see the size of online-only files? The issue is that I have a number of very large files but I want to see the size of each file so that I can download the smallest file first. e.g. In the image below, I have several .pst files ranging from few MB to over 1 GB. I wish to download the smallest file first but if I can not see the size of the file (even if it is online only), I can not judge which file to download first?

Please advice

Regards

Hi there @Canadian_user, I hope you're well today!

The update that you've turned on changes the physical and logical size of the online only placeholder to 0 KB. Due to this, you wouldn't be able to see the actual size of the file from the Finder window I'm afraid.

However, if you use the new desktop app interface, you can see the actual size of the file from there.

I hope this helps, let me know if you have any other questions!
