Smart sync

Smart sync

Gibby
Explorer | Level 3

After smart syncing my Dropbox folders, they disappeared from my file explorer listing under Dropbox.

How do I get them to show in file explorer under Dropbox?

When I access www.dropbox.com I see the folders but can not figure how to restore them to my PC

Hey @Gibby; welcome to our Community!

It sounds like you're using selective sync instead of Smart Sync

Can you check your syncing settings through the app's preferences and let me know if the folders you're not seeing locally on your computer are shown in your selective sync menu?

While we're at it, please make sure that the desktop app is showing 'up to date' in your system tray and not still syncing.

Let me know what you find!

I need to stop this new feature syncronising with my Documents as My Docs are massive

I thought dropbox will create a back up file of dropbox NOT DOCS

It couldnt stop and it eventually crached

How do I solve this?

I did click stop sync several times but it didn't stop!!

Hi @nikilambropoulos; thanks for joining the discussion here and welcome aboard!

To directly get to the chase, you can find out how to disable the computer backup feature here

Let me know if you have any follow up questions, Niki!

After much rsearch yesterday I realized that I had use selective sync not smart sync. I intended to use smart sync, some how selctive sync got used.

When I finally understood how to proceed, found out how to access selective sync, I found the folders that were missing and was able to bring them online.

Smart sync online - not visible on local folder

Gitte Hansen

Hello

I have switched on smart sync to online but now I cannot se files with thumbnails on my local folders.

It looks as if the folders are empty. I'm online with internetacccess, but cannot se photos local any longer in my local dropbox folder .

Do any of you have the same problem, and how can I get it fixed?

I seems as if I cannot switch back to "local". I have tried, but it will not syncronise.

Hope you can help

Greetings from Gitte

Hi @Gitte Hansen, could you clarify if you're using Smart Sync, or selective sync, since these are two separate features?
