Something wrong with the dates on files

I found that the creation date is wrong.  After uploaded the photos to Dropbox, I saw in my desktop that for example :

Date uploaded  5/5/2022, 10:33 PM
Date taken  5/6/2022, 5:41 AM
Date created  5/6/2022, 5:41 AM

But today, it is still 5/5/2022 (GMT+8).    I have checked my mobile and desktop and both system clock is correct and both are GMT+8.  Please help.

Hi @Kinakina, thanks for bringing this to our attention.

Did you upload files directly to the Dropbox site via the site, or using the mobile app or desktop app?

This will help me to assist further!

the photo is uploaded via mobile app once the photo is taken

Could you check the timezone on the Dropbox site to see what one has been selected there?

Thanks for the info, are you still experiencing this behavior on files uploaded via the mobile app using the camera upload feature?

the problem still exist. I just take a photo.

Date uploaded 5/7/2022 9:06AM
Date taken 5/7/2022 5:05PM
Date created 5/7/2022 5:05PM

The time is not consistent

Sorry to jump in here, @Kinakina, but do you see the same behavior, if you manually upload a photo to your account?

Not with camera uploads, but if you select a folder to upload the photo yourself.

Thanks for your reply.  The behaviour is the same if I manually uploaded the folder.  As I use my samsung android to take photos, the file name is YYYYMMDD_hhmmss.jpg, so the difference can be easily identified.

For example, I uploaded the photo manually, the real date and time should be : 20160814_113642.  That is 14 August 2016 11:36 am.  But the info in Dropbox is :

Type                 Image
Date taken      8/14/2016, 7:36 PM
Date created   8/14/2016, 7:36 PM
Dimensions    4032 x 3024
Dots per inch 72 x 72
Color profile   sRGB
