Sonicwall DPI-SSL and Dropbox

Sonicwall DPI-SSL and Dropbox

Mike R.
Helpful | Level 5

I have an issue with Dropbox that only happens when I have DPI-SSL Scanning active on a Sonicwall Firewall. Dropbox seems to work fine except when I right click on an item in windows explorer and choose share. The DB share Dialog pops up and I get the message Dropbox couldn't complete your request. Check your internet connection and try again.

I already have the following in the common name exclusion in the sonicwall

I found this article and then added to the exclusions and the share now works.

Does this sound right that the DB app reaches out to this domain?  Should I exclude any others to make sure I do not have future issues?

Hi @Mike R., thanks for joining the Community!

If any of the Dropbox domains are blocked, then Dropbox services would be impacted in some way.

It's best to whitelist all the approved domains to prevent further unexpected issues in future.

If you need any more details, feel free to message back!
