Storage does not free up on my hard drive when unchecking selective sync

Storage does not free up on my hard drive when unchecking selective sync

Explorer | Level 3

I have most of my dropbox on my local harddrive via selective sync (about 300gb).

I needed to get that off my harddrive for a data transfer. I unchecked all the folders in selective sync. Dropbox updated and finished "syncing" and my harddrive capacity has not changed. When I check the properties for the dropbox folder on my harddrive it is still showing as 300GB even though the folders inside it are now gone.

I have tried restarting my computer. No luck.

I have also checked the dropbox "cache" folder as they suggest, and it is only 90mb, so there is nothing to delete.

I have no idea what is going on, but it's super frustrating. Appreciate any help. Thanks

Dropboxer

Hi @iyiyi, thanks for messaging today!

Could you let me know what device and OS you're running? Are you on a paid plan that also has Smart Sync enabled on the files?

Do you have any hidden folders (according to the OS) in the Dropbox folder?

This will help me to assist further!
