Hi all,

 

I have searched for hours for a solution here with no result. About 4 days ago, I noticed when I would drop a photo or a word doc into Dropbox so I could open it on my other device, they wouldnt appear. I checked on my laptop and noticed a blue circle next to both the dropbox icon and the two files I tried. I deleted and tried again with the same result. I gave it a day, and it still was doing the same thing. I tried restarting my devices- nothing. Now, I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, and the issue is still there. I decided to try my other device, so I took a random photo from it and dropped it in, and low and behold, about 10 seconds later, the green check showed up. I tried again with the same result. It seems to be my laptop specifically. 

 

I need dropbox critically, I have finals coming up and I cannot just keep emailing dozens of files back and forth to my different devices.  I attached photos of the issue.

Im using W10 and this didn't fix it for me.

In fact, in the preferences > Account tab I do not have any mention of "Fix hardlinks".

 

I can fix the issue temporarily by Alt+Ctrl+Del and going to Task Manager, then End Task the 3 or 4 Dropbox programs running.

Then going into file explorer, Dropbox and deleting the three hidden files (.dropbox.cache, .dropbox and .desktop) then rebooting the computer. But this is a pain to do every time.

 

Its happening on 7 computers I have linked, yet it does not happen on my laptop (the 8th linked)

 

Any ideas?
