Switch Google Accounts

When I click 'Create a new file' and select Google Doc, the document is created under what looks like a newly created Google account under my main work email address used for Dropbox. Is there a way to switch the Google account that Google Docs/Sheets/Slides open up as? I want to use my personal Google account for this rather than having a whole new one under my work email address. I still want the main admin email for my Dropbox account to be my work email address though.

Hey there @davidCAN, thanks for posting your query on the Community!

Although you can find more info on using Google Docs/Sheets/Slides from Dropbox in this article, due to account-specific info that’ll be needed to troubleshoot for this, we’d have to continue via email.

As such, I’ve sent you a ticket to the email address associated with your Community profile. Please check your inbox for my latest message and we’ll take it from there.

Thank you!

Hey there @davidCAN - I was just wondering, have you been able to resolve your concern in the end? If so, what did the trick for you?

@Walter No, unfortunately not. After many emails with your support team, each of whom never really acknowledged that the below article is misleading because it makes no mention of the need to have a G Suite account for the functionality to be usable.

In the end I regret that we chose Dropbox for Business and wished we'd gone for Google instead. It's been a long and unproductive waste of time.

Thanks for your extensive feedback David - it's most appreciated.

I can see that the relevant article has been updated to reflect what you mentioned so please feel free to take a look there (if needed).

Specifically, (sic) to use Dropbox for G suite, the email you use for your Google account must match the email you use for your Dropbox account.

Apologies for any confusion this might have brought and please let me know if you have any more questions.
