Switching between personal and work accounts

One of the recent ios updates had this in the change log:

 

"For users with a paired work and personal account, added a new button to switch between them more quickly."

 

Is this referring to the button labelled "Switch to work account" on the settings tab? I ask as that button was there for me before I updated to this version so I was expecting to see something else.

 

This button simpy uses the normal "connect an app to Dropbox" workflow so it's anything but seamless. I have to go through the whole authorisation process and then "preparing your documents..." evey time I swap. I also suspect if I was offline I wouldn't be able to access my work documents with this method. Is there not a way to have both accounts active on the app at the same time in the same way the main Drobpox app does?

Sorry for the late reply. I am not aware of any fixes for this, so submitting a bug report would be the thing to do here. 

The best way for you to do that, is through the app itself:
  • go to settings
  • tap on Send feedback
  • change the feedback type to bug report
  • type your comments and send
One of our support agents will get in touch with you, gather any additional info that may be needed, and then make sure that your report makes it to the right team.

Yes, there is a way to have your connected work and personal accounts available on your mobile at the same time! Have a look at this for more info. 

As far as the message you’ve seen, do you remember what version of our mobile app you saw that in? Also what version of iOS are you running?

Hi @Sanchez, this is in relation to the Paper app, not main Dropbox app. It is the latest version of the app. If you can check my support queue, I have filed this as a bug with support.

Switching between personal and work accounts

I want to pick this discussion back up -

Every time I switch between personal and work accounts on the iphone and ipad app I have to wait while it prepares my docs, even if I just switched to look at something and made no edits, wich is annoying and time consuming. And sometimes it seems to hang while preparing my docs and I have to close the app and try again.

On top of that, every single time I switch I get an email saying I connected a new device to Dropbox. 

 

Could someone from dropbox advise if there are any suggested fixes and then outline the best way to submit a bug report with logs that would show the behavior, if needed.

 

*iPhone 6 and iPad Pro, latest OS and updates.
