Sync Pc folder

Explorer | Level 4

Hi,

Dropbox doesn't sync my PC folders (Desktop, Documents,Download) but sync if I copy files into the app, it remains in configuration and it is not successful without any error messages, I have tried to uninstall and reinstall the app, check the firewall and tried to disable the antivirus but the problem persists, any advice?

Re: Sync Desktop

Dropboxer

Hi @donnje, thanks for messaging the Community!

As the computer backup feature needs to move the Desktop folder into the Dropbox folder, it's possible that there's an app or service on the machine which is using the Desktop folder for some reason, which is preventing the move.

Another possibility is that there's a lot of files on the Desktop folder, which could mean the app is trying to move too many files.

Let me know if any of these could apply on your machine!

Great! Thanks a lot

I closed all running programs and it worked , but I don't understand why some desktop shortcuts that are on the same disk are not syncing

Hi @donnje, it's possible that since you've moved the folders to the Dropbox folder, the shortcuts no longer point to the correct locations. It depends on where the original file is located.

You could try recreating the shortcuts manually in the OS to see if this helps.
