I keep getting this error everytime I try to open up a file from my dropbox app. Can anyone help?

Hi @cfregosi, welcome to the Dropbox Community.

Thanks for sharing a screenshot of the error message - definitely gives us a better understanding of what's happening.

As a first step, could you please hover over the Dropbox icon that should be next or close to your computer's clock, and let me know what it reads?

If you don't see it there, click on the little arrow that's pointing upwards, as the Dropbox icon may be hidden along with other apps.

If you don't find it there either, it means that the desktop app isn't running and you'll have to manually relaunch it from your applications menu.

Let me know how it goes!

PS. I've removed some personal info included in your screenshot for security and privacy purposes based on our Community Guidelines

Thanks for the screenshot, @cfregosi!

Out of curiosity, could you stop the desktop app temporarily from running and try opening the file again? To quit the desktop app:

  1. Click on the Dropbox icon that's next to your computer's clock.
  2. Select your avatar icon.
  3. Choose Quit Dropbox

Let me know if the behavior persists!
