Syncing to Multiple Drives

Explorer | Level 4

Greetings,

Is it possible to sync to multiple drives in different folder paths? This is for Windows.

What I want is to have one set of Dropbox folders sync to one drive and another set of Dropbox folders to sync to another. Currently I don't see how this is possible since your Dropbox home has to be on a specific drive exclusively. The application here is I want to keep a hardware separation on my Windows computer between two different sets of folders within Dropbox.

I used to be able to resolve this using symlinks but as everyone knows support for that was removed.

On Android, there is a third party tool called DropSync that allows me this kind of flexibility...but I don't know of a third party tool that does this on Windows.

Thanks in advance community!

Hi @George A.; long time no see!

As you correctly mentioned, syncing to a Dropbox folder from multiple locations is not supported at this time.

I think a third party app called Boxifier would do the trick for you as it was specifically designed for that purpose.

Give it a go if you like and let me know how it goes!

Hey @Walter,

Thanks for the reply. Yes it's been a long time.

This is a very big deal for me and one as I mentioned I was able to get around with using symlinks. But that functionality changed when Dropbox changed it's methodology for dealing with symlinks.

For me this is a major deal breaker and has gotten me shopping around for other cloud solutions. I already have One Drive from my Microsoft Office subscription, but my experience with the way it syncs content is not favorable...Dropbox is much faster and precise when it comes to propagating changes than One Drive. Google Drive is worse than both. Looking into sync.com next.

I'm open to creative methodology to work around this as again, the symlink one worked great for me before the change.
