The app is trying to sync more files than I have

The app is trying to sync more files than I have

The App wants to synchronize 82717 files 53,9 GB but in my dropbox folder is only 6,2 GB.
Reinstalled the app twice. still wants to synchronize the 53,9 GB.

 

What can i do?

Did you have the desktop app syncing to this location before @Dzjee?

If you haven't already, please unlink the computer from your account security page here, and then try setting up the app once more, to see if that does the trick.

PS: Maybe you have added recently some shares expecting big storage capacity. 🤔

Thank you for your reply but i do not want to upgrade and i do not have the 53,9 GB to synchronize. I can't find what the app is trying to sync.

There isn't one right answer. Generally, you have to get below your storage limit (i.e. "Using X GB of Y GB", where must be X < Y). One way is reduce shares number or their content size (or combined). Exact way is of your choice. 😉 Once you get out of overquota, sync will resume. That's it.

I am very sorry but this does not clarify my issue.
I have one folder to synchronize and it is 6,2 GB.
The app wants to synchronize 53,9 GB and i do not know what this is the app wants to synchronize.

I checked it all but can not find the 53,9 GB.

I see only that it is searching fot updates.

Sorry everything is not clearly explained. I hope this is clear now

Hi there @Dzjee

When you're referring to the app, is this the desktop app by any chance?

If you recently installed the app, did you possibly enable computer backup to sync your Desktop, Documents and Downloads folders?

Backup was not selected.

I now discovered that it is an external hdd it wants to sync. It is no longer conected.

Loged off an upon restart it wants to sync the external hdd. Reconnected the hdd but no succes.

This has helpt me. The synchronising has stopt. This did the trick.

The app is back to normal.
