There was an error downloading your file.

Explorer | Level 3

Hello,
I have a problem with downloading files, i tried different files with different sizes staring from 1 MB to more than 100 MB and still giving me the same message ''There was an error downloading your file.''
I tried to read the similar topics but nothing helped me. Also i tried a different browser and still nothing seems to help.

Hi there @Ismailoviski,

Initially, thanks for giving another browser a try - definitely helps with our investigation.

Could you also try the following:

  • Download a file from the website via an incognito/private browser.
  • Ensure that you're not running any third party browser extensions.
  • Clear the cache.

Let me know how it goes!

Everytime I try to download a single file from my dropbox (desktop) it gives me the message "There was an error downloading your file". The only way I can download files is by downloading a few at the same time which creates a .zip folder on my computer downloads with the files inside.

Any idea why this is happening?

Thanks in advance.

Hey there @Oliveve

Could you please confirm for me if you've tried downloading a single file:

  • Using a different browser?
  • Through an private browser/incognito mode?
  • After you've cleared the browser's cache?
  • Once you've ensured that you're not running any third party browser extensions?

Let me know of any updates!

I have tried with another browser, icognito, and after cleaning all browser data, no extentions.

As I have already said, it only works if I download multiple files at the same time. It works on the app.

Hi there @abduelhaleem, thanks for reaching out to us here!

I've moved your post here as it seems that you're getting the same error message.

As a first step, can you please try the steps Lusil mentioned above to see if that helps?

Keep me posted!

Hi there @Ismailoviski, thanks for nudging us on this thread.

Out of curiosity, when you try to download a file from the website, do you get any error messages? If so, could you send us a screenshot (without any personal info) of it?

Keep us posted - thanks!
