Hey there @Amandakatzarchi - how are you today?

This is setting that needs to be changed on their end as this is an account specific setting and not a shared folder's configuration.

In order to stop receiving email notifications, they will need to unsubscribe from notifications from Dropbox. They can update their notifications' settings, following these steps:

  1. Sign in to https://www.dropbox.com
  2. Click on your name or avatar at the top of the page
  3. Click on ‘Settings’
  4. Scroll down to ‘Preferences’
  5. Select the notifications you would like to receive by checking/unchecking the square next to each notification type.

If there's anything else you'd like to ask, don't hesitate to reach out; we're always a post away Amanda!

How can I stop receiving email notifications about shared folder edits?

New member | Level 2

My boss wants to turn off comment notifications. She does not want to get an email each time a team member modifies a file. She is not the admin on the account but she is the only person on the team getting the email notifications. We tried clicking on the ellipses but options are Share, Download, Star, Rename, Move, Copy, Delete or Events. There is no option to unsubscribe from notifications. Please advise.

Hi there @jaadnes!

I understand you want to disable notifications for edits made to a shared folder, is that correct?

Your boss (and any user) can review and disable the types of notifications they do not want to receive from their account settings on the website.

They can also click on 'Unsubscribe' at the bottom of said emails, which will disable that type of notification being sent again.

Let me know if this helps!

I followed the other Help articles with the same title.  I am using a Windows laptop.  Clicking the Gear icon does not provide an option for "preferences".  Any ideas?

Hey @BarryBillings! Thanks for reporting.

Missing "Preferences" can make things extremely difficult. No worries! May I have a screenshot of how things look on your end before we fix this please?

I will also need to know which version of Dropbox is giving you this problem.

Have you tried reinstalling already?

Looking forward to the screenshot and the details to help you further. Thanks!
