Viewing PDF in File Explorer Preview Pane

Explorer | Level 3

I keep all my emailed invoices usually pdf files, in one folder.  When the folder is ticked in smartsync as 'online only' I can view the pdf in the preview pane.  As soon as it downloads after viewing or if I change the folder or file to local, the preview is blank.  Any suggestions how I can sort this so I can always see file the preview pane when it is local.  I have gone through the File options and view options and the correct boxes are ticked/unticked.  Thanks.

Hi @gilly, thanks for posting today!

After you're marking the file as local, could you try reopening the file to see if it generates the preview of the file?

As the preview in Explorer is handled by the OS, could you check if there is a way to reset those settings as well in order to re-index and preview the file again?

Let me know how it goes!

Thanks for your reply.  Re-opening did not generate the preview but the previews are now showing for photos and word files in all views.  PDF's will only preview when in list view but not in icon view, so I can switch view to work round that.

Thanks for advice
