Dropbox says it’s full even after deleting most files

New member | Level 2

Hi
I have Dropbox basic. My account was full so I deleted most of my old stuff. I then went into the deleted folder and permanently deleted these items.

I don’t sync content with phones/laptops.

I’ve waited a week to see if it would then (effectively) defragment and hence give me my space back. But that hasn’t worked.

Are there any suggestions on how to solve this? I’ve read a few articles and can’t see anything that covers this.

Many thanks in advance for your helpful suggestions,
Mark.

Once you deleted files you reduce your quota immediately.

However, its important to realise that deleting 100 files at a total of 2gb wont do anything if you are 3gb over quota.

Please note that shared folders use quota so that could be putting you over it.
