Web Version vs File Explorer

Occationally, when a file is shared with me, it won't appear in my file explorer on my computer, which means I cannot access it with my computer programs.  

In this care,the fime is accessible on my mobile app, and the dropbox web version, but i cann't get it from my file explorer.  This only happens sometimes.  Anyone know why?

Out of curiosity, are you having this trouble with individually shared files, or files that are in a shared folder?
