What are "not added" shared files and folders?

What are "not added" shared files and folders?

Under Internet > Dropbox > Left menu > Shared, some of the files or folders are listed with the notation "not added". These have all been missing from my local Dropbox folder for a couple of years. Can anyone explain this situation in detail, including how to recover the files or folders?

They are shared folders that you removed from your Dropbox without removing your access. Such folders can be added back to your Dropbox from your Share page.

Thank you! For anyone else who has my problem: on the Share page, each entry has a very faint gray "Add" button that appears only when you put the mouse on top of the entry. The "Add" button is to the left of the ". . ." button instead of being in the menu that appears when you click the ". . ." button.

Hi,

I reinstalled Dropbox standard on a Win 10 PC. I selected to backup the Documents folder. I received a msg saying I did not have enough space and selected "Proceed anyway"

I now find that a folder containing sub folders and files is no longer on my machine, and is not in Dropbox.
I have searched the Dropbox events and my local recycle bin.

The folder is listed in the Dropbox "Shared folders", but marked as "Not added to Dropbox"

Can anyone help to locate and restore my files?

Hey @mikeyparr, I hope you're doing well today!

It sounds like you're referring to a shared folder, right?

If so, were you the owner of the folder or a member?

If I were you, I'd check to see if you have the option to add the folder back to your account.

Can you give this a go and let me know how it turns out?
