What happens if my files get corrupted?

New member | Level 2

I want to make periodic backups of data to a folder, but what happens if my computer is infected with a, say, ransomware virus and the files are encrypted?  Do those files get synced as encrpyted on Dropbox as well?  How do I keep that from happening to the remote file/folder?

Hi there @scottdog129, welcome to the Dropbox Community.

You can have a look at this article which explains what you can do in case your files are corrupted or renamed by ransomware.

Let me know if you have any other questions!
