Where is the checkmark for selecting multiple files gone?

Explorer | Level 4

Since the latest update I can't see checkmarks or dragging the mouse for selecting multiple files anymore.

I am using dropbox for syncing photos to my PC.

After syncing I have to select every photo individually in order to delete it. Really annoying.

Are you referring to the folder on your computer, or while using the Dropbox website? If referring to the folder on your computer, that feature is controlled by your operating system; not Dropbox. If you're referring to the website, you can still check files to select them. The check box for a file doesn't appear until you hover over a file. Once a file is checked, all other check boxes will appear.

I am referring to both.

I can see the tick boxes on the web- site as you described.

Whilst I can select more than one file at the same time that way, when I right click to copy them only one file copies.

On my desktop…… I can't do anything. It has nothing do with my computer set-up, as selecting checkmarks or dragging the mouse over more than one file works perfectly everywhere else.

I never had a problem with this before.

Thank youf the additional information @RiaT

We would love to investigate this behavior if you are only facing this difficulty with files that are in your Dropbox folder locally.

I can reach out to you to the email address associated with your Community Profile. I will need a screencast to see the problem reproduced in your Dropbox folder and in another location in your computer.

woman detectiveI can also provide instuctions for the screencast, let me know your OS version.

Thanks in advance!

You can't right-click files using the website. Dropbox removed that capability long ago. Once you've selected one or more files, you need to use the menu on the right side of the page.

I have attached a screencast.

I am using Win10 pro, latest update.

I also have….

Uninstalled dropbox, as I have been told that I was running a beta build of Dropbox.

I than reinstalled the latest stable version.

Unfortunately this didn’t help.

Thank you for the help.

There's no screencast attached to your post. Perhaps you can put it in your Dropbox and create a share link to it instead.
