Wheres the password thats needed for friends to view a shared dropbox folder?

My friends and colleagues are unable to access my shared dropbox folders because they need a password in order to do so but im not ever given a password by Dropbox? Any ideas guys & girls?

If its a shared folder that they would have read/write access to then they need a Dropbox account to view it - so that would be what it is asking, for them to log in OR sign up if they dont have an account
