Why do photos from Whatsapp have no date shown when uploaded to Dropbox?

Explorer | Level 3

Have just changed from Apple to Android.
With Apple:
Click on whatsapp photo / save / and photos upload to Dropbox and appear in Dropbox / Photos / Today (or yesterday etc)
With Android
Click on whatsapp photo / share with / add to Dropbox
Photo now uploads to 'camera uploads' folder.
However in Dropbox 'photos' it has not been saved as 'Today (or yesterday etc) but saved in Missing date' 01/01/1970 00:00
Why does Apple save the date and metadata but Android does not?
Apple Dropbox app also allows you access to metadata of photos taken with camera
Android Dropbox app does not
Why such big and very annoying differences between Apple and Android?

Have you downloaded a WhatsApp photo by other means and verified that it actually has the proper metadata saved in the file?

Hi Rich
Yes I have
Photos I am sending (using WhatsApp camera function) or receiving via WhatsApp, when saved to Dropbox are without metadata or are being saved as unknown date.
Also why am I unable to see the metadata for every single photo I have stored on Dropbox when using the Android app?
Again with Apple app this is possible.
The reason I have noticed these differences is that 2 days ago I changed from an Apple to Android product
Two different problems but slightly related

Hey @Fac51, I just wanted to jump in here and mention that you can check the metadata of a file from the website. You can find more info about that, here

As for the files you add to your account, could you clarify the date it shows via the website and the mobile app? If you could send me a screenshot (without any personal info) of this, that would be very helpful.

Keep me posted, thanks!
