Why does adding to another user's shared folder use up space on my account?

Why does adding to another user's shared folder use up space on my account?

Hi DB Community. I'm having an issue where another user created a shared folder for collaboration purposes. They are the one hosting the folder, but when I upload files to that folder, it takes up space on my account. His account has plenty of space available, but mine does not. How do we change it so the files are stored on his account only? Thanks for your time!

Shared folders occupy the space of all members accounts. You need to have enough available space in your own account to hold the entire shared folder that you're trying to access.
