Why have all our sub-folders moved en mass into a new master folder?

Hi, for some unknown reason, our dropbox sub folders have been moved enmass into a new master folder.

I cannot trace the reason why and all out devices are now moving all files to the new folders.

How do I find out who did this change and how do i stop it from happening in the future.

Hey @AdminSherpafg, that sounds strange; let’s have a look on the possible cause together!

It’s my understanding that this has happened for a shared folder; please correct me if I’m wrong in how I’ve perceived that. If so, could you start from the following points?

  • It would be a great idea to start from your your Events page, where you can monitor any file additions/ deletions/ edits in shared folders & you can also filter the results using the “Date” field to paint a clearer picture.
  • As you mentioned that all devices are also moving files there, could you let me know if by that you mean that your devices are syncing the changes or something else?
  • It would be worth checking who is the Owner of the target folder where everything ends up.
Please keep me posted on your findings & we’ll go from there!
