Can You do something to make it work faster. Comparing to box.net notes it's horribly slow. Especially when note becomes bigger and bigger. It's get laggy and uncomfortable to use. Paper is great product and I love it but it should work faster.
Agree with this. I have been a great fan of Paper and have been using it for many months now. But unfortunately, as my documents get bigger and bigger, it is becoming slower and slower. Especially after I do an edit on my phone (which itself is a trouble since I have to manually scroll through the entire doc to reach the end), it becomes slow on the desktop too after that. Now I am forced to either quit Paper (and go back to Google Docs) or split my long documents into two (which I don't like).
I fully agree. Even with small documents, loading on my cell phone fails 75% of the time.
Even if they were loaded a day before and internet connection is perfect.
I use paper often as a kind of fast idea notebook, but when I need to try 3 times to load, the idea might be gone 😀.
So does anybody have a work-around? Big documents are becoming impossible to work with.
I think one of the advantages of dropbox paper is precisely the notion of an infinite paper where there are ways to search in it and find your location quickly with the table of contents. But if this feature can't be used because papers become too slow when they are too big and documents need to be split up, then I don't see much of a point vs competitors. I really like dropbox paper and wouldn't want to move, but this is becoming impossible to work with in the long-term.
I wholeheartedly agree.
I use dropbox paper because it is one of the few products out there that supports markdown shortcuts, is WYSISYG, allows images to be embedded, has proper code snippets, and supports LaTeX rendered inline. It is a product that I would very much like to see succeed, but all of these features are severely hindered by its performance. Even mildly-sized documents become painful to work with. Inserting some text sometimes takes nearly a minute between typing the text on my keyboard and the screen actually updating with the text I typed. And the entire UI is frozen during this process. Please figure out a way to fix these performance issues.
