Why is autosave not an option?

New member | Level 2

I worked on a document for the whole of yesterday, I thought I'd saved it, but I guess not.

It's not in my history at all for yesterday, I've checked with your helpdesk (wasted another hour).... poor show dropbox.

Pls add autosave to Dropbox in the same way OneDrive has. I will have to leave dropbox now after being with you for many years as I can see that I have days when my history shows nothing at all... really in this day and age, how is this so poor?

Re: Autosave

Dropboxer

Hi @silveriddid1, thanks for posting on the Community.

I understand your frustration regarding this matter. The Dropbox desktop application will sync changes if there are changes to the files in the Dropbox folder. If the file was edited from the folder, and wasn't saved, then there wouldn't be any detection by the app to sync the files, which is why there isn't any history on the file.

If the file was edited via the Dropbox site, this will help me assist further!
