Why is my rewind so slow to revert my files?

New member | Level 2

I have tried rewinding a folder (with subfolders), but it just stalls at

2 of 3 Fine Tune

It has been 3 hours so far -

The screen shows some graphics - so show its working but I don't think it is.....

the folder and subfolder is about 3Gig and 40,000 files

can anyone give me their experience with rewind - amd i stalling or just expecting too much ??

Regards

Hi there @Leotec

I'd be more than happy to help look into this with you!

Initially, it sounds like there could be a third party app hindering the desktop app from completing its task to rewind.

Could you please try temporarily closing, for example, any security software that you might have in pace that could be affecting it or disable your antivirus? Maybe that will do the trick.

Let me know how it goes!

I'm having the same issue (though I'm attempting the Rewind right from the Dropbox site via my browser). Granted, it's a lot of files, to the tune of 50+ GB (I was trying to move some things around and believe I tried to move too much at once and the whole thing crashed on me)... but I'm wondering what the expectation is here. When I try to Rewind, it attempts to load all of the files, then it appears that it freezes as the file load items stop at a certain point (and any of the in window animations freeze up completely). Is there any way to deal with this as I definitely need these files. It's much of the freelance work I've done for the last decade and I'd like not to lose it.

Hey @iamsaaw, thanks for nudging us on this thread.

It sounds like the feature just needs time to be able to complete its processes, but if you're still having trouble after some time, just give us another shout.

Keep me posted - thanks!
