I LOVE Dropbox Paper. But I find it utterly incomprehensible that there is no bulk export and you have to export 1x1 per doc. This is a poor implementation for businesses (and normal users) to make backing up their work so difficult.
I am struggling to understand how such an oversight was possible.
I hope they fix that at some point.
Hey @vanilladecaf, I hope you're having a good day!
At the moment, you're indeed right that there isn't an option to export a selection of Paper docs in one go.
However, if this would be helpful for you there is an option to export all the docs that you've created with the steps outlined here.
This way, we can gather all the feedback for this request more efficiently and pass it along to our dev team.
Sorry that I couldn't be of much more help with this, but do let me know if you have any other questions.
I see, thanks for clarifying that @vanilladecaf!
With the new Paper 2020 release, there indeed isn't an option to export all documents at once as your Paper docs can be scattered throughout your Dropbox folders.
Since this isn't currently an option, I've made a note of your feedback on this but I would still suggest sharing this in our "share an idea" section if you'd like to.
Hey, is there no possibility to export all Papers in Dropbox? It's tedious to export every document one by one and since the files are stored as a proprietary file format this lock-in is a no go for Dropbox Paper.
I found this thread from 2018 but I can't find the mentioned "Export" button: https://www.dropboxforum.com/t5/Dropbox-files-folders/Batch-Export-Papers/m-p/316433
Theres another request in 2019: https://www.dropboxforum.com/t5/Dropbox-files-folders/Ability-to-export-all-my-data-history-and-comm...
Hi @pxlrbt; welcome to our Community and thanks for using Paper!
As the relevant Help Center article mentions, you can export all of the docs that you've created at once by following these steps:
Let me know if this helps!
thanks for pointing me to that help article. I was only searching here in the community.
I tried the steps you were listing but I couldn't find the "Download docs you created" options
Thanks for the quick reply @pxlrbt.
Could it be that you're on the 2020 release of Paper?
If that's the case, it's expected to not get that option as your Paper files reside within your Dropbox account (and files) so you'd need to export them and download them according to your needs from there.
Let me know if I'm missing something here!
Thanks for clarifying this for me @pxlrbt.
I've just sent you an email so we can look further into this.
