Why upload much slower on last 5 files?

No matter how many files I upload, the last ~5 files will take 5 to 10 minutes. Is this normal?

I have professional account (3TB)

Hi @guykanon,

That's really curious. Are you trying upload same size files or mix of different sized? One possible reason could be the fact Dropbox arrange files, going to upload, by size and the smallest one gets uploaded first and so on. Is this your case?

Thanks for posting @guykanon. Welcome to the Community.

Syncing depends on various factors.

  1. You Internet speed. Test your ISP connection speed.
  2. Your device performance.
  3. The number of files/folders.
  4. The size of files/folders.
  5. The bandwidth settings of your Dropbox desktop application. Click here for the steps to adjust your bandwidth.

So, 5 to 10 minutes can be a normal, but again, it depends.

Let me know if my answer was helpful and of course all your questions.

Thank you!

I don't think this is a bandwidth issue.

If I send 205 files, the first 200 will upload in about 3 min, but the last 5 files will take 5-10 min. If I send 55 files, it uploads in about 1 min, but then the last 5 files will take 5-10 min. This happens every time nomatter how many files or size of files.

It is as if DropBox throttles the last 5 or so files to a crawl.
