being told my dropbox is full but there is space

being told my dropbox is full but there is space

Explorer | Level 3

I am only using 60MB of the available 2GB.  this is what shows when i check my dropbox plan

 

however i've received an email saying my dropbox is full and my files have stopped syncing and that i need to upgrade.

 

Any ideas?

I'm sorry to hear about this. Is the email you received referring to another account, which can be seen in the email sendee? 

 

Is it possible you have another Dropbox account under another email you own?

Hi Jay,

 

No it's not. i only have one dropbox account

 

i havent used dropbox since my university days but all the files that were shared back then have been deleted and i cannot access them. I go onto 'my account' and on my plan it shows as only 60MB being used....rather strange

It sounds like the account is indeed underquota now, so there shouldn't be any issues syncing. 

 

Perhaps, as you mentioned, there was a shared folder on your account that you were removed from, which freed up the space. Do you see anything like that in the events page?
