deleted files

I installed drop box on my computer and it attempted to sync my files.  Somehow, it deleted all of my files.  It was about 5 years worth of documents.  I am sick over it and I have been trying to recover my files without success.  I need help!! I don't understand how Dropbox can just delete files that were saved to your computer without your permission.

Could you please let me know some additional information about this in order to advise further?


Did you by any chance enable the computer backup feature upon installing the desktop app on your computer?


Otherwise, can you find any of the deletion events in your events page? All uploads, edits and deletions are normally logged there so it should give you a hint.
